# Account & Sign-in

Your Datarelix account is how you sign in to the app; it is separate from the permission to read any database. This page covers creating an account, the sign-in options, password resets and what Google sign-in does and does not grant.

## Create an account

Go to [app.datarelix.ai](https://app.datarelix.ai). The page opens on **Create your account**:

- **Full name**
- **Work email**
- **Password** — at least 8 characters, entered twice (**Confirm password**)

Creating the account signs you in straight away. A confirmation email is sent to the address you gave; you can use the app before confirming it.

Returning users switch the form to **Sign in** with the same email and password.

## Sign in with Google or Microsoft

You can also sign in with **Google** or **Microsoft**. The sign-in page shows the options available to you.

Restricting sign-in to your organisation's Microsoft tenant, and other organisation-wide sign-in controls, are part of an Enterprise arrangement: [talk to us](https://datarelix.ai/contact/).

## Google sign-in does not grant access to BigQuery

Signing in with Google shares your **identity only** — your name, email address and profile picture. It gives Datarelix no access to your data in Google Cloud.

Connecting BigQuery is a separate step you take in the connection form, for that one connection. You will see a Google consent screen the first time you create a BigQuery connection, whether or not you signed in with Google. See the [BigQuery guide](/guides/connections/bigquery/).

## Reset a forgotten password

Choose **Forgot password?** on the sign-in form (or go to [app.datarelix.ai/reset-password](https://app.datarelix.ai/reset-password)) and enter your email address. Datarelix sends a reset link.

- The link works **once** and expires after **1 hour**.
- You see the same confirmation whether or not the address has an account, so check the spelling if no email arrives.
- If you request several resets in a short time, further emails are held back for a while; wait rather than retrying repeatedly.
- Completing a reset also confirms your email address and **signs you out everywhere else**, so you will sign in again on your other devices.

If a reset email never arrives, [contact us](https://datarelix.ai/contact/).

## Stay signed in and sign out

Signing in keeps you signed in on that browser while you use the app. To sign out, open the account menu and choose **Sign out**.

## Team invitations

On a Team plan, the workspace owner invites you by email. Open the link in the invitation and sign in with any account — your own connections, conversations and dashboards stay private to you. See [Team seats and invites](/guides/billing/#team-seats-and-invites).

## Query as each signed-in user

For Azure SQL / Synapse, Databricks and Kusto, a connection can query the database as the signed-in Microsoft user instead of one shared identity, so each person's own database permissions apply. This needs federated Microsoft Entra sign-in and an app registration with delegated permissions, so it is set up as part of an Enterprise arrangement. The steps for the database owner are in each engine's guide: [Azure SQL / Synapse](/guides/connections/azure-sql/#entra-obo), [Kusto](/guides/connections/kusto/#entra-obo-default) and [Databricks](/guides/connections/databricks/#federated-jwt-sso).
